The One Wellness Habit That Changed the Way I Hydrate

Why I’m Prioritizing Electrolytes, And You Might Want To, Too

Let’s talk hydration, but not just any hydration.

Most of us think we’re doing our bodies a favor by sipping water all day. But did you know that how you hydrate matters just as much as how much you drink?

I learned that the hard way.

After a serious medical emergency, I found out my electrolytes were seriously depleted. That realization stuck with me and completely changed how I approach hydration.

It’s More Than Just Water

Fast forward to today, and I’ve deepened that understanding through my gut health training. Spoiler alert: electrolytes do way more than just keep you from getting dehydrated at the gym.

They’re essential for:

  • Balancing fluids in your cells

  • Helping your muscles work properly

  • Supporting brain function, energy, and focus

And water alone can’t do all of that on its own.

So What Do I Do Differently Now?

I’ve been using a hydration mix called Electrolyte+ that goes beyond just replenishing fluids. It includes the big three (sodium, potassium, and chloride) plus beetroot and nitrate to support cognitive function. That last part is huge for me, especially when I need to stay clear-headed and energized.

Blood Orange is my go-to flavor. It tastes like summer and sunshine. And sometimes I toss a packet into my morning smoothie for an effortless hydration boost.
